PROVINCIAL
NOMINEE PROGRAM

​

This program is for  workers who:

  • Have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory, want to live in that province, and want to become permanent residents of Canada


Each province and territory has its own “streams” (immigration programs that target certain groups) and requirements.

For example, in a program stream, provinces and territories may target:

  • Students

  • Business people

  • Skilled workers

  • Semi-skilled workers

  • Professional truck drivers

FAMILY
SPONSORSHIP

Sponsor Your Relatives to Immigrate

  • Spouse

  • Partner

  • Children

  • Parents

  • Grandparents

  • and others

 

The Sponsor must fulfill the following requirements:

​

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

  • Sign an undertaking, which is a promise to provide for the basic requirements of the sponsored person

  • Meet the income requirements for the past 12 months (exceptions to this requirement apply)

FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER

Foreign skilled workers and professionals are greatly needed in Canada.

Federal Skilled Worker Program:

This program is for individuals with certain work experience who intend to reside in any province or territory outside of the province of Quebec.

​

Quebec Skilled Worker:

Applicants who plan to immigrate to the province of Quebec may be eligible to submit an application through this program.

​

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): 

Most provinces and territories have created their own skilled worker programs for those intending to live and work in their particular province or territory. These are fast-track Canadian immigration programs that allow candidates to receive a provincial nomination certificate. In most cases, a nomination certificate will allow candidates to immigrate more quickly than through other Canadian immigration programs.​

 

IMMIGRATING TO CANADA
AS A CAREGIVER

The Home Child Care Provider and

the Home Support Worker Program

​

Foreign caregivers coming to work in Canada will no longer have to leave close family members behind and will have a more straightforward pathway to Canadian permanent residence.

​

Benefits:

  • occupation-specific work permits, rather than employer-specific, to allow for a fast change of employers when necessary

  • open work permits and/or study permits for the caregivers’ immediate family, to help families come to Canada together and

  • a clear transition from temporary to permanent status, to ensure that once caregivers have met the 24 months work experience requirement, they will be able to become permanent residents quickly.

  • These new pilots provide caregivers from abroad and their families with a clear, direct pathway to permanent residence.

BUSINESS IMMIGRATION

Through Canada's Business Class immigration programs, Canada aims to attract individuals that have a significant ability to contribute to the Canadian economy. These programs are offered with the goal of promoting economic development and bettering the job market by attracting investors, entrepreneurs, and self-employed individuals from outside Canada with available venture capital, significant business acumen, and entrepreneurial skills.

Investor Immigration

These immigration programs are for individuals with a certain net worth and enough capital to make an investment in the Canadian economy.

Entrepreneur Immigration

Individuals with a certain net worth and business management experience who plan to run a business in Canada may be able to submit an application.

​

Self-Employed Immigration

These programs allow self-employed individuals with significant experience in certain trades and professions to make an application for Canadian immigration.
